As a CommunityAccountant, you'll be responsible for analyzing and reporting the financial activities of your assigned community.
Working closely with building management and Board of Trustees to prepare and monitor community budgets and cash management.

Responsibilities:
Maintain day-to-day positive and productive interactions with General Manager, department managers/staff, Accounting, Collections, and other functional areas as well as the Client Board.
Work with the General Manager in responding to questions, requested actions, etc.
from the Client President & Treasurer.
Assist in training the General Manager, department Managers and other staff on accounting processes and procedures including proper invoice approval and / coding and understanding of policies / procedures.
Assist the General Manager, staff, co-workers, and Client with questions and requests.
Review financial statements, budgets, and audits, covering the Operating, Golf Course, General Reserve, Lake Maintenance Reserve and Dock Reserve Funds and ensure information is accurate, complete, and delivered on-time.
Partner with FirstService Residential's Client Collections Department to ensure proper training and oversight of self and staff.
Ensure compliance with all applicable state, federal and local laws, and requirements.
Manage direct reports responsible for onsite Accounts Receivable, Collections, Accounts Payable and daily transactions for the Golf Fund.
Work with the General Manager on Budget creation, covering all on-site departments including Administrative, Maintenance, the Golf Course, and the Police Department.
Ensure resolution of any major accounting / financial issues with managers, accounting staff, sites/board members.
Reports are to include at a minimum monthly and YTD financials, bank reconciliations, budget/actual headcount reports, capital spending, fixed asset schedules, Dashboard/KPI, Delinquency Reports, etc.
Drive improvements in reporting capabilities such as proper aged receivables and automated generation of KPI's/Dashboard, headcount reports, etc.
Provide monthly variance actual/budget analysis and commentary.
Create reports and presentation materials for Finance Committee and Board Meetings.
Responsible for all accounting functions of the Golf Course.
Work with the General Manager in responding to Board accounting/financial questions and inquiries.
Work with the General Manager to ensure all accounting/financial task items from meetings with Boards are completed Primary FirstService Residential Finance contact with the client working closely with the Board Treasurer and Finance Committee Chairperson as authorized by the Treasurer.
Act as a Champion for the Client within FirstService Residential.
Additional duties as necessary to ensure General Ledger Client Accounting is functioning at the highest level possible.
Assist with special projects as requested or instructed by the General Manager.
Work directly with Controller to develop consistent and accurate standards and processes Proactively identify where more value may be generated (e.
g.
review of and suggested banking changes to increase interest income).
Maintain an accurate and up to date chart of accounts Review internal control weaknesses and implement or recommend improvements as warranted.
Skills &
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university.
Excellent organizational skills and project management.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills ensuring information is presented in a thorough, articulate, logical manner.
Advanced written communication skills.

Excellent Analytical Skills.
Thorough knowledge of accounting/budgeting procedures.

Compensation :
$65000 - $75000.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
